Every season of Warzone brings with it a ton of changes and additions to try and spice up the game, as well as balance changes to keep any one tactic from being too powerful. While that’s all well and good on paper, there are still guns that rise above the rest, and others that should be left on the ground. Knowing which one is which is key to reaching the final circles in Warzone, and we have the best guns you should be using to outplay your opponents.
There are currently 40 primary weapons in Warzone, but we will only be focusing on the top six guns and detailing why they hold those spots. The two new guns added in season five, the ISO and AN-94, are still too new to fully tell where they fall in the meta, so will not be included. But, at the moment, they don’t seem like they would knock any of these picks off the top spots.
The Bruen Mk9
The Bruen is considered by many to be the absolute best gun in Warzone as of season five. It not only has the high damage, rate of fire, and bullet range as the PKM, but because it can be equipped with a 60-round magazine it can have the equivalent handling of an assault rifle. Essentially you get all the benefits of an LMG, but with the handling of an AR, making this gun arguably too good.
Grau 5.56
This gun has always been way better than most players gave it credit for, but has started to get some recognition recently. Despite getting an increase in damage dropoff back in season four, the Grau is still incredibly accurate. If you buff it with a suppressor and the 26.4" Barrel attachments, you can turn it into one of the most precise fully automatic guns in the game.
FAL
Thanks to a massive damage boost in season four, the FAL stands toe to toe with the Grau and Bruen on the tier list. As a semi-automatic gun, the FAL deals tons of damage at nearly every range, has a quick rate of fire, and great handling. If you’re a fan of semi-autos, nothing comes close to the FAL.
Oden
Looking at the lineup of assault rifles, there’s no other automatic gun in Warzone that deals as much damage-per-bullet as the Oden. If you want a gun that you can use to counter snipers, then immediately spray down SMG users rushing in, the Oden is the only AR up to the task.
HDR
There’s little debate that the HDR isn’t the best sniper in Warzone. It may not be quite as good in terms of handling as the AX-50, but the HDR’s lighting-fast bullet speeds more than make up for it. Unless your target is just a spec on the horizon, bullet drop might as well not exist for you. Just set your cross hair on target and pull the trigger.
MP7
The MP7 and MP5 are very close when it comes to which is the better SMG. Unlike the other guns, your preference in how you play will make more of a difference here. The MP7 gets the pick due to its better handling and more magazine attachment options, making it a better weapon to have rushing down enemies in tight environments.
If you haven’t already, putting some of these guns in your custom loadouts is sure to keep you in the fight and out of the gulag.
