Nintendo continues to expand their Switch catalog with the upcoming release of a remastered edition of Crysis. After successful ports of games like Skyrim and The Witcher 3, a game like Crysis Remastered should find a comfortable home within the Switch’s lineup.

While other platform release dates have been pushed back because of a lukewarm reaction to the remastered gameplay, the Switch release is still coming on time and will be available on July 23rd. Fans of game were able to get a small sneak peak of what the game will look (and play) like on the Nintendo Switch.

The uploaded footage to Twitter fell victim to the bad compression of Twitter videos but if you go to the Crysis website there are a handful of screenshots as well as four captured gameplay videos showing off what Switch users are in for. The videos are impressive for the Nintendo Switch which seemed to pull of the remaster well with great graphics and new features.

There are a handful of added features and updates for Crysis Remastered including a destructible environment and bending vegetation, new light settings and dynamic lighting. The game will even utilize the Nintendo Switch’s gyro controls to allow users to aim with it. For essentially a handheld remaster, the gameplay looks beautiful and another way to enjoy an iconic game.

The original Crysis released late in 2007 and since then has garnered a strong fan base as well as an expansion game and two sequels. The remaster is set to bring Crysis into a new light making it more accessible than ever. The release to other platforms have unfortunately been delayed, but for Nintendo Switch owners, Crysis Remastered looks like a great way to relive the amazing game, or play it for the first time and will be available to play July 23rd.
