If you didn’t already want to check out this fabulous Zelda-themed dream island, then maybe this trailer will convince you?
Animal Crossing: New Horizons players can go to incredible lengths to customize their islands, and the new Dream Island feature added in update 1.4.0 means that you visit and explore anyone’s island without fear of vandalism or petty theft. You can explore random islands like a ghost and then wake up as though from a pleasant dream.
Or a nightmare, in the case of Twitter user Daega of New Hyrule’s (@DaegaH) new Dream Island.
“An ancient evil has returned,” begins the trailer for Daega’s new island. “Heroes stolen from time fight and endless war while the puppet master pulls the strings.”
In case the costumes and music weren’t giving the surprise away, Daega’s island is all about The Legend of Zelda. Using custom patterns and decors, Daega has converted their entire island into a giant Zelda theme park with famous scenes from throughout the Zelda franchise.
The terracotta warriors in Hyrule Castle were a nice touch.
You can visit Daega’s creation by heading to Dream Address DA-9114-1462-2579. Remember to bring your Zelda costumes to really sell the whole experience.
Of course, this isn’t the first time we’ve seen an island in Animal Crossing: New Horizons pay homage to one of Nintendo’s oldest franchises. Shortly after the release of New Horizons, one Redditor decided to recreate Hyrule from Link to the Past by terraforming their entire island. It was quite the endeavor, and we’ve got the photos of the place over here.
And if you can’t get enough of the voyeuristic new direction that Animal Crossing is taking, check out the fan-created Random Dream Code Tool that’s now available on the Crossing Channel website. It uses a database of dream addresses to pull random Dream Islands and provide to players that would rather spend time on other islands than their own.
Hopefully, Daega adds their creation to this incredible tool so that more people can try to defeat Ganon.
