  • Open Apple’s Messages app. Open a message with a contact. Tap the App Store icon next to the text field in a conversation thread. Tap the Animoji (character in yellow square frame) icon from the selection of App Store apps in the tray below the input field. While looking at your compatible iPhone, scroll to the emoji you want to turn into an Animoji. Bring your face into view and press the red record button. Tap the send (blue arrow) button to send the Animoji.
